Any of you like adding green chiles to a dish? I've added them to my burgers and chicken tacos and I really love them. Looking for any other recipes where I can add them.

I think chiles are something you can add to almost anything. *smile* My dad makes a thick sauce out of fresh chiles and tomatoes, and we put it on almost everything: tacos fried eggs, soups, rice, beans, cold sandwitches, etc. You can use chile whether as a sauce or by itself on pretty much whatever you cook. Just try them out on sandwiches, pizza, eggs, rice, beans, whatever savory things you are eating. If you're not sure how they will work cooking them in a food with a recipe, you could just put the chiles over it when your done cooking the food. Hope that helps. *smile*

we, indians use a lots of green chillies of course. mostly for all our gravies or whatever. ok. I'll give you a recipe for Indian chilly chicken now.

Ingredients:

500-600gms. boneless chicken (cut into1-inch cubes)
2 tbsp Soya sauce
1 egg
2 tbsp corn flour / corn starch
5-6 green chilies (finely chopped)
2 green onion tops (finely chopped), if available
1 tsp garlic paste
Salt To Taste
1/2 tsp white pepper powder or to taste
1 tsp sugar
A pinch of ajinomoto (optional)
2 cups chicken broth / water
1 tbsp oil
Oil to fry

How to make chili chicken :

Take 1tbsp. Soya sauce, 1tbsp. corn flour, salt, egg in a bowl and marinate chicken pieces in the the mixture for about 10-15 minutes.
Heat oil and deep fry the marinated chicken pieces till golden brown.
Now in a separate wok / kadhai heat 1 tbsp. oil and add garlic paste and green chilies and sauté for few seconds.
Add 2 cups of chicken broth or water. Bring to boil and add sugar, pepper powder, salt , ajinomoto and remaining Soya sauce.
Add fried chicken pieces to it and cook for few minutes.
Dissolve the remaining corn flour in 1/2 cup water and add to the curry stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
Serve chilli chicken hot garnished with chopped green onion tops. Goes well with steamed / boiled rice.

Please don't forget to invite me. ok?

that sounds tasty although i must admut i have not heard of that ingrediant, ajinomoto

also the word, kadhai, that is also a new word to add to m vocabulary.

There are so manied types of chilie peppers and I must admit that to me I have a preferance for the milder ones though yes, some of the milder of the heat type of chilis can be nice.

...not to add confusion

when at first I say preferance for the milder ones, I am thinking of the sweet bell peppers. They are nice with salads/

ajinomoto is a powder which will give you more taste to that. and kadhai is nothing but a pan for frying dishes. they have used tamil words in that recipe.

there is this packaged item in the freezer section of grocery stores

Where green chillie peppers are like engulfed
in a creem cheeeese mixture
and then engulfed in a bread crumb like mixture.

These then may be placed in oven for a few
minutes..

haven't had this treat in ages.

Think it is the creem cheeese is so cooling
like, even when in the baking process

Something
in that the peppers seemed not so HOT like
if they were on their own consumed.. {??}

Sounds Delicious
and

..and given that
the original poster of this topic
has stated,
"Looking for any other recipes ..."

seems that more of these recipes could easily be added here..

Seems to be that a corn bread could have chillies
added from time to time
Maybe for a special occassion..

and some times Corn Bread goes along
quite nicely with homemade chilli
